Located
at a distance of 15 km from the west side of Bitola is mount Baba with the
peak Pelister (2601m)-The first National Park in Macedonia. Its basic
phenomenon is the five-leaf pine Molica, which was discovered by the
Austrian botanist A. Grizenbach in 1839. The area is plentiful with mountain
rivers
and springs, but particularly attractive are the two glacial lakes “Pelister
Eyes”. The exceptional flora and fauna of Pelister including plants
classified into 23 families, and 62 types of animals.
